I love to watch how children play. The other day, my daughter put on her best dress to go play outside in the dirt. I’ve always believed there’s no point in saving something for good. Life passes too quickly and why only wear something once? ;)
So many times they seem to see things we don’t. Ah, the eyes of a child. Last night, I clicked on beautiful photographs that depicted life in the womb. Instead of appreciating the photography, the comments sparked a religious debate about God or no God. For those that didn’t believe in a higher power, there were many remarks alluding to the fact that people should read about science and become more knowledgeable and that it’s pointless to believe in what you cannot see. Why would you believe in something that’s invisible?
I consider myself blessed to have witnessed a miracle in my early 20’s. When science failed and doctor’s told my Mom it was time to pull the plug, prayer was my only hope and the fact that my Dad survived, well that’s an incredible story of a miracle I’ll share on another day. Life experience led me on a personal journey to know God, to see if His Promise was true. “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.” – Jeremiah 29:13
Most people don’t have time to dedicate to searching for God. I made accommodations. There were many times I was up in the middle of the night, with my bible open, seeing what He had to say. I was always amazed that regardless of when I opened my Bible, what was written years ago, always applied to my current situation. I came to know a loving God, who wants a relationship with His children and the closer I drew to Him, the more He made His Presence known.
For the last six years, I enrolled in every Bible study the Lord presented before me. The more I learned, the more I wanted to know.
If I was going into surgery today, I would trust a surgeon who went to school to operate. I’m sharing with you what I’ve learned because not everyone has the opportunity to devote several years of their life to studying God’s Word and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that HE LOVES US. Regardless of what we’re going through, whether we see Him or not, He is with us. Just like when we walk outside on a blustery day, we can’t see the wind but we feel its presence.
He has called us to love each other. He is a God of relationships. Before you met your best friend, did you know they existed? I didn’t meet one of my best friends until I went to college. Amazingly enough, she was still alive and well, just living in a different part of Pennsylvania and I hadn’t met her yet. How long will you wait? You have the opportunity to meet the most incredible friend today! You’re Creator, the One who loves you, a love so great, we can’t experience it any other way then to invite Jesus into our lives so that we can know Him and His Father in Heaven and He can fill the void that can’t be permanently satisfied by any other means. I know my life changed when I prayed the prayer, “Jesus, come into my heart and help me to know you more.” If you haven’t echoed those words before, I encourage you to do so. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
How has believing transformed your life?
